Things to Know Before Your Procedure
Food and Drink

Cardiology Procedures: Do not consume any food, beverages, or water after midnight the day of your procedure. You may brush your teeth. If you have pills that you need to take, please take with a small sip of water.

Nephrology Procedures: Do not consume any food, beverages, or water four hours prior to your procedure.

This is all subject to change depending on the type of procedure you are having. One of our pre-op nurses will go over this with you.
Will I Need A Driver?

Yes, under Kansas law, any person that has been under any sort of sedation cannot be released to drive themselves home.

Taxis and Public Transportation are not allowed.

You must have Responsible Adult stay with you for 24 hours after having sedation.​
Pre-Op Phone Call
One of our nurses will call you two (2) days prior to your procedure to go over instructions and to answer any questions you may have.
What You Need on Surgery Day:

Bring your Insurance Cards, Photo ID, Contact Information, and Advanced Directives.

Cardio-Kidney Vascular Care is located at 3161 N Webb Rd between Kansas Gastroenterology and the Volvo Dealership in the 96 Plaza.

The entrance to Suite 220 faces Webb Road and is on the southeast corner.
Smoking/Tobacco

Cardio-Kidney Vascular Care is a smoke-free environment.

Do not smoke or use tobacco after midnight the night before your procedure.

Clothes
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that will fit over any dressing.
Valuables
Leave valuables at home to avoid losing them.
Makeup, Nail Polish, Jewelry (including body jewelry)
Please remove all makeup, nail polish, and jewelry before your procedure.
Procedural Duration

All procedure times vary depending on the type of procedure you are having.

Plan to be at the facility for at least 1-6 hours respectively.

Allow yourself plenty of time for admission, pre-op, procedure, and recovery.

The pre-op nurse will try to give you a more accurate time frame during your pre-op call.
